Cassie's Project: Luminarias

Original

Before we see how Cassie created luminarias, let's first take a look at the designs that inspired her project. This is a brand-new product, just released today: Well Wishes!

Well Wishes features six applique designs for a variety of gifts! Perfect for Cinch Sacks and more, these cheery designs stitch out quickly in a 5x7 hoop.
Now, let's see how Cassie used these designs in new and delightful ways!

Reimagined: Luminarias

Cassie took Well Wishes and turned them into beautiful luminarias. Her idea was inspired by her hometown cancer awareness walk, which was lined with luminarias!

To see Cassie describe the luminarias, click HERE and go to the 3:26 mark. Psssst! Cassie also made a Valentine luminaria with the Forever Petals design (below right)!

Note: The You Are So Loved design (above left) is from the Friends are Family We Pick Ourselves design in the Well Wishes collection. (Cassie just changed the words.)  🙂

Aren't those SEW much fun? Now, here's what Cassie used for her projects, along with short video tips on how she did it!

Cassie's Pro Tips

  • Clip the excess stabilizer away so it doesn't get trapped under the hoop.
  • Clean up the back side before taping the bag together.
  • Use fabric for the appliques (not another material like felt).
  • Use sand to weigh down the luminaria if it's going outside.
