🇺🇸 Kim's Project: Patriotic Bows Table Runner

Originals

Kim was inspired by our latest Applique of the Month design: Freedom Rings.

#1: Applique of the Month: Freedom Rings

Freedom Rings features an American flag, applique florals, and a heartfelt sentiment. For the original project, you'll stitch the design on a light blue table runner!

Learn more about Applique of the Month HERE. (I personally loved stitching out this table runner! To join me on that journey, click HERE!)

Reimagined

Now, Kim decided to take this design and make a completely new table runner, complete with beautiful background quilting and tied bows on each end!

👢Cassie's Project: Live Simply Mini Quilt

Original

Cassie was inspired by two specific Kimberbell projects: the Country Blooms Pillow and the new Shoe Applique 1 Easy Applique. Let's take a look.

#1: Country Blooms Pillow

Kimberbell's Country Blooms Pillow features a bouquet of wildflowers in a Woodgrain Leather crate. Stitch the cheerful design, then add a dimensional cord!

#2: Easy Applique, Shoe Applique 1

Easy Appliques are so much fun. They're inexpensive, take hardly any time to stitch out, and are absolutely darling! Cassie loved this Shoe Applique 1 design for her project.

Reimagined

Cassie combined the boot design with the Live Simply, Bloom Wildly sentiment from the pillow and the result couldn't be more perfect! (She also added a lot of beads and bling!)

Note: Cassie flipped the boot so it was facing the other way. Take a look!

🥧 Cassie's Air Fryer Apple Pie Pockets

Now, if you watched Craft Night With Kimberbell, you'll know that every episode concludes with a recipe.

Because the night had an Americana theme (and nothing's more American than apple pie), Cassie made mini apple pies in the air fryer. (Think McDonald's, only homemade!)

    Ingredients

    • 1 Can Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll Dough
    • Apple Pie Filling (Canned or Homemade)

    Directions

    1. Open the can of cinnamon rolls and remove two pieces of cinnamon roll dough.
    2. Squish the dough with your (clean) hands. Make it about the size of an uncrustable sandwich cutter. (Something like THIS will work!)
    3. Put a dollop of apple pie filling into the center of the flattened dough.
    4. Create a top by squishing another piece of dough.
    5. Place the top dough onto the bottom dough and pinch the edges together. (It looks like a mound at this point.)
    6. Cut the pie out with your uncrustable sandwich cutter. The edges should now be sealed together. (Note: You can also just pinch these closed by hand!)
    7. Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees for 3 minutes.
    8. Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray.
    9. Place the pies in a single layer, leaving enough space between them for air circulation. Cook until the dough is golden brown.*
    10. Serve with ice cream and enjoy!

*Every air fryer is different, so this time might be more or less. Keep an eye on things, especially at first, until you know how long the pies will bake in your specific fryer!
