One Amazing Autumn Apple Crisp
Filling Ingredients
- 5 cups freshly sliced apples (I use Granny Smith!)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Topping Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a deep-dish pie plate (or large baking dish) with cooking spray.
- Combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla in a large bowl and mix until everything is evenly coated. Pour into baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Pour in melted butter and stir until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes until fruit is soft and crumble is golden. Cool slightly before serving and top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Note: If crumble is starting to get too brown too fast, place a sheet of foil loosely over the top and continue baking.
